Name: “Logan” James Howlett
Code Name: Wolverine
Affiliation: X-Men
Age: Approximate age, unknown, but he appears to be an adult in his late 20’s
Height: 5’3”
Weight: 300 lbs
Hair color: Black
Eye color: Blue
General Appearance: Logan is a short man, and he is quite hairy. His body is quite hairy and his facial hair is quite abundant. His facial hair covers his cheeks and breaks before his mouth. He shaves his mouth, so he doesn’t have a goatee or mustache, more like savage lamb chops. His hair is relatively short, but spikes out somewhat like his mask. He speaks with a somewhat rough voice, his manner is relatively calm but he has a certain way about him. Logan does not look like the first person you’d walk up to to make buddies with. He usually wears t-shirts and jeans. Keeping it relatively simple, leather jackets, Logan’s got his own style. He looks a bit rough around the edges, and they’re sharp.
Personality: Logan’s got an obligation to Charles Xavier and for that he’s helping him out with the kids. Logan isn’t the kind of person to take a lot of crap, he speaks his mind and he wears his heart on his sleeve. In a way he’s very much a ‘shoot first’ mind type. He will stand his ground, and stand for what he believes is right. As an instructor, he has very few patience, if you’re in his danger room class. He’s talking and you’re listening. He doesn’t allow anyone to challenge his authority, and such, his danger room classes have a certain reputation for their intensity and their degree of difficulty.
Logan hands his respect out to few and thus, when you’ve earned Logan as a friend you have a friend for life. He’s the kind of person that would do anything for his friends, and is the kind of friend that would say what needs to be said if it needed to be. He really cares about the kids, he believes that what he’s helping Xavier accomplish is important. His methods don’t always explain where his head is at, but Logan’s a peculiar mind. He’s stubborn in his ways, If he believes something has to be done, he will do it if he have to.
X-Factor: Wolverine is a mutant with a number of enhancements to his physiology. Wolverine possesses heightened senses, making him capable of seeing things at a maximum distance greater than that of a normal human. His hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, and he is able to recognize people and objects by scent, even if that person or object is hidden. Logan can use these enhanced senses to track anyone, with an impressive degree of success.
He possesses retractable bone claws that are housed in his forearms; they are part of his skeleton system. At will Wolverine can release these claws through his skin between the knuckles on each hand. The skin between the knuckles tears and bleeds, but bleeding is quickly halted by his healing factor. The claws are made of Adamantium, an indestructible metal that coats all the bones in his body. This allows Wolverine to be able to cut through most types of flesh and natural materials, as well as some metals.
Lastly, Wolverine possesses an accelerated healing factor based on his physiology. While most normal humans heal injuries over a long period of time, Wolverine's healing factor speeds up that natural process. Wolverine's natural healing has been advanced to the point where he can heal extensive injuries (such as broken limbs) in a matter of hours to days. This factor gives him a higher resistance to poisons and toxins, and he can recover from almost any injury. The more extensive the injury, the longer the healing time will be.
Wolverine, again due to his healing factor, has an enhanced resistance to disease, as well as an extended life span, although he doesn’t know about that just yet.
Power Details: Wolverine is not immortal, however. If the injuries are extensive enough, especially if they result in the loss of vital organs, large amounts of blood, and/or loss of physical form (such as having flesh burned away by fire or acid), Logan can die.
General Skills: Wolverine is a combat machine, and as such his secondary skills are to help back that up. Wolverine is experienced in numerous forms of hand-to-hand combat, including martial arts training and training with martial weapons like swords.
Brief History:[glow=black,2,300] Logan was born James Howlett, a young boy born into one of the richest families in the small Northern Alberta mining community. His family, the Howletts were both a prosperous an prestigious family. Logan’s father was a chairman of the board of the city, one of the cities most prominent city council figures. Logan’s mother was a quiet house wife who cared for her sickly son.
As a child, Logan was often accompanied with a cold or sickness. As consequence, Logan was not allowed to leave his house often. Logan’s only friends were a young girl named[/glow] Rose[glow=black,2,300], and his friend whom they called Dog, the caretaker’s son. A kid much bigger than Logan but around the same age, they played often, making the vast grounds of the manor that the Hewlett’s stayed on their playground, engaging in hijinx and fun.
As Logan began to blossom into a teenager, his friendship with Dog began to grow tension as both of the boys developed crushes on the young Sarah. During an Incident, Logan listened in on his father firing the caretaker and forbidding them from the premises. Logan was losing a friend but he would not have time to grieve the loss. That day, Logan found the Caretaker, in his parents bedroom, knife in hand he had stabbed his parents to death. In Logan’s budding anger, he felt something he’d never felt before.
Six bone claws, three from each hand shot out from him. The scene that played out was gruesome, witnessed only by Logan’s grandfather. Logan killed the caretaker whom just finished killing his parents. Logan’s grandfather was horrified from what he saw, his grandson was just like him, a freak. He offered Logan one ultimatum, take the money and go to escape their parents fate. Logan, at the age of seventeen moved with Rose to a smaller farming community, a few days journey from where they currently lived. Logan worked to earn his keep and respect of the other workers, while Rose kept the small cabin they resided in, in order.
In the small logging town, the work kept Logan in excellent shape. He was in good condition, working hard for his money and he felt proud of it, for the first time in his life things were kind of normal until one day when he’d lost Rose. He came to his cabin one evening to find Rose eviscerated, a large, hairy man standing over him. A smell Logan recognized as Dog. Why had Dog come here, to get revenge? Logan didn’t know.
In the wake of this, Logan thought it’d be best to power through rather than dwell and he quickly signed up to the Military. Logan’s skills surprised his commanding officers and Logan was quickly ushered into some more espionage-esque situations in some more unique departments of the Canadian Military. One of the most memorable moments during Logan’s military history was fighting along side Capitan America during World War 2.
After the military, Logan moved to a city called Madripor. It was here that Logan adopted the alias Patch, as Patch he co-owned a bar named “The Princess Bar” With a woman named Cassandra West. Cassandra was a momentary fling of Logan’s. They watched each other’s backs, had fun, sometimes a little too much fun, and made sure each other didn’t make too much fuss in Madripor. Keeping things quiet was key to keeping life easy.
It was in Madripor that Logan met a beautiful Japanese woman named [/glow]Mariko. [glow=black,2,300]Mariko was soft, gentle, she understood Logan. They became close very quickly but Mariko was due to wed another man named Kenuichio Harada. Harada was a gifted samurai, and Mariko’s father forbid her to see Logan, a man whom he saw was a humorless and classless man.
In Japan, Mariko’s father was killed, and Mariko blamed Logan for the deaths which were perpetrated to make him look like the cause of. Mariko fled from Logan, and Logan was now left in Japan with nothing. Deciding to build himself a home, he was saught after and trained as a Samurai, believing that if he did this his honor would be restored and maybe Mariko would be able to love him again.
Logan spent about 8 years in Japan. After dispatching of Harada, who was now calling himself the “Silver Samurai” and running local gangs which terrorized local villages for money. Logan returned to the only other place he’d called home, Madripor. Times were tough in Madripor now, The Princess Bar was re-opened and old regulars were quick to note it’s new location and Patch. But Madripor had become too overwrought by crime. Logan needed something new. It was time to head back to a place even Logan dared not to go.
Returning to Canada, Logan quickly encountered Dog, now calling himself Creed. This would be the last time that Logan remembered anything as[/glow] Creed [glow=black,2,300]was the main reason he was responsible for being ‘recruited’, more like abducted by Department H, an offshoot of one of those espionage-esque military outfits that Logan was working for, and tested on an experiment that countless before him had failed but Creed knew, that Logan would survive.[/glow]
It was here that Logan was transformed from James Howlett into the rabid Wolverine. Through Weapon X, its unknown the tasks that he was forced to go on, as Logan has no memory of them, just torturous nightmares of the procedures that turned him into what he is. He is ignorant to the fact that it is him in the dream, he’s just haunted by them and doesn’t know why. His first memories are of a woman named Silver Fox, a Native American woman who found him and helped him after he escaped, he fell in love with Silver Fox and they stayed in her cabin which was located in northern BC, in the thick mountains just outside the Alberta border. With Silver Fox, he felt safe, she was affectionate and she was beautiful.
It was out in the wilderness, isolated, that Logan truly came to love it, and mostly came in touch with his ‘feral’ side. The forest, the nature, it stimulated his senses, in a way it was like taking a drug all of itself. It was so peaceful, so care free. It was then when Logan met Creed for the second time. Creed, who forced himself upon Silver Fox before killing her, waited for Logan to return from a fishing trip to attack Logan. Logan fought Creed off, and fled the cabin.
After Logan Silver Fox was killed, he decided to stick to drifting between trucking communities along the southern Saskatchewan and Alberta border. Doing anything from underground fighting leagues to working in lumber mills. Logan drifted, trying to stay away, anytime his temper was even momentarily pushed, or he was pushed. He snapped, Logan raged, an inexplicable feral rage, he’d killed, he’d maimed. He felt guilty for it. Who was he? He was a monster.
With no previous memory and a trail of bloodshed behind him, Logan felt helpless. As he fled Canada to the United States, that was when his life started to get weird, he was approached by a man who referred to himself as Eric Lensherr. He called himself Magneto. He said he was a mutant and that Wolverine himself, was a mutant with extraordinary power and ability. However, Logan was disgusted with the carnage he’d caused and told Magneto where he could go and what foot would go where if he didn’t.
As Logan continued to drift, he met another mutant. A mutant named Charles Xavier. Unlike Mr. Lensherr, Xavier was calm, he didn’t immediately strike Logan as arrogant or even pompous, as Xavier offered to help Rehabilitate Logan, and possibly help him find answers for himself. Logan agreed.
Now Logan is an instructor in Charles Xaviers school, in charge of The Danger Room, Logan is the primary ‘coach’ of the Danger Room, teaching kids and helping them learn to use their abilities comfortably in a controlled setting. He is greatful for what Xavier has helped him. Logan is still in search of his answers but with his place at the Xavier Institute, Logan feels that at least he’s helping to make a difference.
Sample Post: Logan growled as the array of chatty youngsters stood infront of the man, as he raised his voice, it echoed through the danger room and as soon as he started speaking, the chatter from the group of young X-Men stopped. “Shaddup and listen up because I’m only gonna be sayin this once.” He said looking to the students who stood, confused, wondering just what it was in this simulation that appeared to be relatively innocent, that was in store for them.
They stood outside of a moated off island. The island looked like it was big enough for all of them. “You’ll be playing king of the hill. The middle of that island is the hill. You can use your powers during this exersize but be nice to each other or I’ll have to step in and split you up.” Logan used his claws for emphasis of this point, he really didn’t want to have to be splitting anybody up.
“The danger room will keep track of your time in the middle of the island, once everyones been eliminated the person with the most time ‘on the hill’ will win the exersize.” He said looking to the students, pacing lightly back and forth. “To eliminate someone, you must knock them from the island, into the water. If you are knocked into the water you will come and wait over here for the five minutes to end. After five minutes, the points will be tallied, and one of you twirps will be announced the winner…”
Logan was sure he got all the points down, “Any questions?”
