Roxanne stood in uniform, patiently awaiting her students. It was 10 minutes till the class was set to begin and as usual, Roxanne had been waiting since 20 minutes earlier. Currently, her thoughts were occupied by what Logan her had been talking about; a camping trip for the students. Really, it wasn't a bad idea, she'd be sure to ask the students their thoughts on it after class.
She had made the announcment after the previous class meeting that the next month would be open for all students to come and watch the flight class, possibly participating in it as well. There were posters and flyers posted on the bulliten boards around the institute inviting any student who wished to see them.
From when Roxanne had been hearing around the mansion, it seemed that the students thought that this was just a way for the Flight students to show off, but in reality, this month was focusing on defense of non-flying allys in air, as well as learning which manuevers could and could not be performed with an extra non-flying person. Roxanne hoped this would be a good way to help her students get used to having someone in air who couldn't fly, as well as getting the non-flying students used to being in air, and working with their teammates.
Only problem would be if students were too shy to volunteer, or dind't trust their fellow students to be there to catch them. But with Roxanne there to catch them, nothing could go wrong. Now she just needed to find a student who was willing to be her demonstration dummy for the day.
Roxanne was probably going to have to choose someone, and if that were the case, Bobby Drake was going to have one hell of a day for skateboarding in the house earlier and skating away from Roxanne and Logan in the laundry room. In the mean time, Roxanne stretched her back a bit, the tight black with deep purple lining uniform, still new, needed to be gotten used to.

Bobby was in a decidely good mood, he'd been aware of the flying classes and although not officially one of them, he could do a few tricks to get him doing sweet moves. He didn't even know why he felt compelled to show up earlier than other folk. Someone might've been playing some games in his head, but for the life of him he couldn't be happier.
Strolling around like he owned the place, the not yet frosted up boy walked around in a pair black pants and had an open flowery Hawaiin shirt. It was a fine day and he didn't exactly feel the col, not like normal folks. Wondering what all the fuss was about, the brown haired teen nodded his greeting at Roxy. "What up Teach" she was not one to mess with, but the warning really didn't sink in with the ol ice cube.
Bobby's bare feet gripped at the green grass, letting blades tickle between his toes. It was such a nice day with only a couple of clouds very high up and plenty of sun to warm even the iciest of kids. Perhaps his retro fitted uniform wasn't exactly uniform and was a lot more laid back, but who cared he didn't need boots or fancy jackets. They could rot or shatter from cold anyway.
Plonking his butt down on the ground, the teen dazed at the sky whilst waiting on any other students that may decide to show up for his skills. They were pretty awesome, even if you asked him.

Jean made her way out onto the Institute grounds. Her rose red hair was fastened at the nape of her neck with a intricately designed hairpin. She wore a simple button up blouse anda khakis coloured skirt. Perhaps not an ideal outfit to be flying around in but she did have her x uniform in her bag f it was needed.
She was one of the first students to cme to the Institte and one of the first things she had learned to do with her telekinesis was to bend it around herself to allow herself and others to fly. She was well trained in this ability and didn't really think she needed to take a class like this but then again she could always get better and if this class didn't have anything to offer her she could still use her experience and skills to help others.
She walked up to where Bobby and Roxy were waiting. She placed her bag down on the grass and gave both Roxy and Bobby a respective greeting before settling down into the grass herself making sure her skirt was still in an appropriate position before looking up at her teacher, "Who else signed up for the class?"

OOC: Just going to write both of them into this post rather than writing two separate posts. Feel free to treat Mari like you've never seen him... he's kind of a night owl in all things, given his nature. I'll also color code dialogue for simplicity's sake Orange for Sunspot and Gold for Hawk. Also Lee, if no one else volunteers and you need a non-flyer say something... I could bring back Outlaw faster than I had intended to.
"Who else do you think, Jean," Roberto asked smoothly, appearing from inside the Mansion in his uniform. He glanced at the other two students that were present, Jean and Bobby. Apparently they didn't know how to follow directions since they weren't in uniform. In truth, Roberto was kind of glad that Jean had decided against her uniform. Watching her fly around in that blouse and skirt might be interesting indeed. Flashing a roguish grin at Jean the solar powered mutant placed his orange mask over his eyes. "How much longer we waintin' for," Roberto asked Roxanne as he powered up, his skin turning darker than the darkest night. Since he was out in the bright warm sunshine Roberto knew he could stay powered up indefinitely. While he waited for an answer Roberto watched the skies to see if anyone else might try to make an entrance.
Elsewhere, up in his room in the attic of the Mansion Mariusz pulled on the tight black fingerless gloves that were a part of his uniform, limited though that uniform was as it was only the gloves and a pair of tight fitting black shorts that completed it. The Polish mutant examined his appearance in the mirror, both trying to figure out what was missing from the uniform and debating with himself over whether or not to go to the flying class for the first time. 'I already know how to fly,' he thought to himself, still he didn't know how to coordinate his flying with teammates on the ground and since that was what today's flying class was supposed to be about Mariusz had argued himself into going.
Having reconvinced himself to go to the flying class that left only one thing to do, figure out what was missing from his uniform. If he couldn't figure it out, he might not go. Glancing around his room the avian mutant's gaze came to rest on the several pairs of wrap around Oakley's that he had; black, blue, orange, and gold. All of the pairs of glasses had opaque lenses if you weren't wearing them which meant that Mariusz would be able to see just fine while he was wearing them but no one would be able to tell where he was looking since they wouldn't be able to see his eyes. The Polish mutant knew that the black ones would go best with his uniform, but despite that fact he selected the orange pair and pulled them on, checking his reflection in the mirror. "That's much better," he said softly to himself.
Moving over to the window in his attic room Mariusz lifted open the window to its maximum extent before scrambling somewhat ungracefully onto the window ledge. It wasn't the easiest thing in the world to get a six foot four inch frame into the window, but somehow Mariusz managed it. Leaning forward the feathered mutant allowed himself to tumble out of the open window, his wings spilling open once they were clear of the Mansion. As air filled the wings Mariusz gave a couple of strong flaps to get himself airborne and in a few minutes he was high enough that, thanks to his enhanced vision, he could see all of the grounds gliding lazily at a height around two hundred feet. With a bird's eye view it was easy to locate where the flying class was taking place.
Mariusz glided lazily in the direction of where the class was forming. After all, it wasn't supposed to start for a few more minutes. He had time to take his time. When he was nearer he could tell that there were three of his fellow students already there for the class. The only thing left to do now was get down to the class. Tucking in his wings tightly to his back, Mariusz allowed himself to tumble into a steep headfirst dive, rocketing towards the ground the Oakley's keeping the rushing wind from bothering Mariusz's eyes. About fifteen feet from the ground Mariusz shoved his wings open again and as they cought the rushing wind the teen abruptly went from fatal collision speed to almost a dead stop in midair. Having grown up in the mountains of Poland, the diving stop maneuver was one that Mariusz had performed many times. With a few small flutters of his wings the avian mutant touched down on the grass between Jean and Roxanne. "Am I too late for the class," Mariusz asked in a slightly clipped British-sounding tone as his English teacher had been British.

OOC: Don't worry about bringing Outlaw back, if you have her planned to come back differently, then keep it like that. We can just use the flying students and see who trusts each other "What up Teach""Hello Bobby." Roxanne sighed, half smiling at the boy. "And I told you, just call me Roxanne or Ms. Danemburg." Truthfully, Roxanne hated the formalities of being a teacher. If she was calling them by their first name, then there was no reason why the students couldn't call her by her first name. When Jean made her way over in a skirt, Roxanne was immediately displeased, though it didn't show on her face. Jean wasn't the kind of girl who would wear something like that for the sake of showing off. Roxanne smiled at Jean, and was about to answer her question when another student showed up, Roberto. "How much longer we waintin' for,""Just two more students. And there is no need to be powered up right now Roberto, powers off. Also, Jean, go and get into your uniform." Roxanne said, her hands raising to her forehead, looking to the sky's to see if the other two flyer's were approaching. It was easier to just tell her to get into a uniform than saying something about her choice of a skirt for flight class. Uniforms weren't required, but certainly made things easier for the students and Roxanne. A few minutes passed and there was no sign the other two were coming. Class didn't start till everyone was there, if one person was missing, then the other student had to stand, spaced from each other to hinder communication and wait. Roxanne was going to wait 10 more minutes before separating every one. With the thought of possibly having the students stand at attention for an hour lingering in her mind, one of the remaining students, Mari came swooping down, landing between Roxanne and Jean. "Am I too late for the class,""Class doesn't start till everyone is here. But it was scheduled to start 5 minutes ago. Get here on time next class or I'll be personally training you for 2 hours in the danger room." she said in a stern voice. Danger room with herself for 2 hours seemed fitting enough of a punishment, seeing ass all the complaints Roxanne heard from students were either about her Danger room class or worse, Logan's class. Roxanne's eyes again wandered to the sky and with only a few minutes remaining, Joshua Guthrie had better be hurrying. Suddenly, from the roof, Jay was in her sights, but he was coming....rather fast towards the group. A little too fast for Roxanne's liking, but she had to trust him in his abilities. The speeding boy, carrying someone with him, didn't look like he was slowing down anytime soon. Out of reflex, Roxanne quickly formed a gravitational shield around the students on the ground, her palms pointing at Jay as he (miraculously in Roxanne's mind) slowed down JUST before hitting her barrier, though just barely. To avoid the collision, Jay had flapped his wings backward, causing a huge gust of wind to blow against the shield, dirt and other things bouncing off it. He landed, letting go of his brothers waist and folding his wings behind himself. "Sorry Ah'm late Ms. Danemburg, got a bit caught up with family." he said, sligtly out of breath. "He can stay and watch, right?" Roxanne relaxed, letting the shield down and sighing. "Yes.." she started, walking over to Jay. "...but if you ever try something that reckless without knowing what you're doing again, you'll regret it. You put yourself AND him in danger." she said almost yelling at Jay and pointing to Jeb. "Am I understood?" Roxanne said, a slight snarl in her voice as he eyes pierced right through Jay. He swallowed hard, wanting to retort back that he KIND OF knew what he was doing, but not completely. Jay knew it best to keep his mouth shut. "Yes ma'am." was all he could muster. Roxanne sighed, walking back to be in front of everyone. "Okay class. As you know, this month we are focusing on defense, particularly how to defend yourself and a flightless companion using evasive maneuvers alone. You're companion must be kept within 20 feet of you at all times, save for the times that you toss or drop them for a maneuver." she said, turning to the class. "Did any of you invite a non-flying student?" she asked, hoping that it wouldn't be kept just to this small group. Obviously, Jay's family member was there, so that's one flightless person. But with everyone here, they had to trust each other completely. They needed to trust that if they were dropped, the other person would grab them quickly.

“He wasn’t gonna let me get hurt,” Jeb, who had been absolutely terrified at the time, said.
However, now that he landed, the fact that he’d ever been scared seem ludicrous. Of course Jay knew what he was doing, and even if he hadn’t, things turned out just fine and Jeb would always stand up for family. Jay was far more willing to admit a mistake had been made, but then, he wasn’t the one in trouble.
Jeb settled down in the grass as the class began, figuring he’d probably just be sitting down and watching. It would be interesting, he thought, seeing his brother and other students flying around and maneuvering, and while it might get boring eventually, the idea of being around a bunch of people who could actually fly was still very much a novelty. Then she spoke, and all possibility of him getting bored. They were going to be defending flightless people? Did that mean he’d be involved? Did Jay plan all this? Eyes wide, Jeb glanced at his brother. Toss or drop them. He was going to be tossed and dropped? By the whole class? Didn’t she just lecture Jay on endangering him when he didn’t know what he was doing? Maybe they wouldn’t be using him. Maybe they had…dummies. Or something.
Then she asked if anyone brought a flightless student with them. So they were using students. Glancing around, Jeb hoped to see some flightless students, but being new to the school he didn’t really know who could and couldn’t fly, or how many people there were normally in the class. He hoped they’d been asked the class before to bring in a flightless student, because otherwise it would be quite likely that he was the only one there, and it would be scary enough getting tossed around by Jay. He really didn’t want to be tossed around by everyone.
Finally, after much worried glancing around, Jeb asked, “If they didn’t, Ah’m not goin’ to be tossed around by everybody, am Ah?”
This was clearly a point of concern for the young teen. While he was sure they would know what they were doing enough to not let him hit the ground, or else the teacher wouldn’t be having them maneuver with a student, it was a little scary thinking he’d spend the whole class in the air, falling or being flung or…well, maybe he’d get used to it. Maybe it would be fun. Like a roller coaster. Without a seat, or seatbelt, or anything connecting him to the ride itself, which would release and catch him.

Bobby responded in kind to Roxanne's correction with "Sure thing Teach" there was an all too familiar jovial smile brimming from the short teen. His mess of a brown haired mop hanging just over his eyes. "Hey Jean nice outfit" he smirked, at least he wasn't the only one being a rebel today.
The rest of students fell in some wandering about like Roberto, "Sup, bra'" he greets with a toothy grin. They were similar in some ways and yet polar opposites when it came to powers and values. "You gonna try and melt the Iceman again?" he said playfully. By the look of his appearance, he might be up for a test of skill. Bobby chuckled to himself.
The birdman Mariusz flew down to meet everyone else. "Yo Mars" he called out interrupting other peoples chat and left it at that. When Rox was talking again, Bobby yawned and stretched himself out waiting for everyone to simply show. His eyes half lidded and didn't realise the rush of air or the sudden forcefield that sprang up.
Sitting up when Roxanne started class, Bobby interrupts again. "Haha Jay's got a brother who's more hick than he is!" Pointing out the Kentuckian's clothes, the two of em had dyed red hair, even Bobby who wasn't all to worldly could tell it wasn't a natural coloring. Drake wasn't a bully but he was an ass and like attention, whether good or bad. "So Teach am I like flying or non-flying?" He shrugged as he made to stand and let his shirt to fall on the ground.
There were a few seconds before the material touched the grass where Bobby was flesh and bone and then in a flash, ice crystals started to spread out from his torso upwards and outwards till standing by a slightly wet patch of grass was Iceman. He gave a frosty wink to the new kid. [glow=blue,0,500]"Name's Iceman, and I'm as cool as everyone says!"[/glow]

[glow=brick,0,1500]"I'm always up for a game... you like playing with fire, Iceman,"[/glow] Roberto asked, not bothering to power down even though Roxanne had asked him to. After all, he'd be using his powers in just a second anyway for the flight class so he really couldn't see any big reason to not be powered up right now at the moment while the rest of the flight class and their guests were assembling. [glow=brick,0,1500]"And you're not a flyer Frosty, you're a glider... Me, Feathers, Tweety, and Jeanie, we're flyers,"[/glow] the solar powered mutant continued, still looking around the group.
Mariusz wasn't entierly certain whether he was 'Feathers' or 'Tweety', either way he didn't think it was very nice for the other mutant to refer to him in such a manner. But, there really wasn't much Mariusz could do about it. Quietly, Mariusz ruffled his feathers a little bit at the remark that had been made by Sunspot and moved to stand a little bit closer to Roxanne. As the only adult present he felt much more confident and secure around her than he did around the others, teammates or not. He also hoped that he wasn't going to be expected to be tossing and catching someone else during class today, he wasn't altogether sure that his hollow bones could take that kind of punishment without snapping. "Am... am I going to be tossing and catching people too? I'm not sure if my body can handle that," the avian mutant said softly to Roxanne, hoping that only she would hear what he said.

Roxanne ignored the fact that Jeb said his brother wouldn't let him get hurt. She was sure Jay didn't WANT anything to happen to his brother, but if something did, he wouldn't be able to stop it unless he knew what he was doing; unless he had control.
“If they didn’t, Ah’m not goin’ to be tossed around by everybody, am Ah?”
Roxanne was about to answer the new student when Bobby inturupted.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Haha Jay's got a brother who's more hick than he is!"[/glow]
Jay glared at Bobby. "That's not funny Bobby." Roxanne added in, "Drake! You know I do not permit any kind of teasing in my classes. You and I are going to have a meeting with Logan after class." Roxanne wouldn't and COULDN'T stand that kind of teasing or slander in her class. They were supossed to be a team, how could they be a team if there was a seperation between social groups?
"So Teach am I like flying or non-flying?"
What kind of question was that? Did he have wings? Did he levitate or use anything to float in the air? No. [glow=red,2,300]"And you're not a flyer Frosty, you're a glider... Me, Feathers, Tweety, and Jeanie, we're flyers,"[/glow] At least one of her students had some sense. Roxanne just mentally rolled her eyes at Bobby's question. "You glide Bobby, technically you're a non-flyer, but you ARE operating at higher altitudes than most people, which is why the professor decided to include you in this class."
"Am... am I going to be tossing and catching people too? I'm not sure if my body can handle that,"
"Yes you will, but I know how your body works Mariusz," she said, turning to the ounger mutant. "I have certain manuevers you'll need to practice to get right, but in the end you will be doing that same thing everyone else is doing, just with less strain on your body."
Roxanne looked around, waiting to see Jean show up from the mansion any second, but she couldn't wait any longer. Jean would come back eventually. If not, Jean was a good student and would more than likely have some kind of explaination that was acceptable. Unless that Summers boy was involved, those two together, however 'cute' it may be, disrupted activities far too much.
Roxanne clapped her hands together, in a way that seemed to be the official 'bell' for class. "Well, the only way to get you guy's started is to show you the first move you'll be leanring." Roxanne put her hair up in a ponytail and took a few steps backwards so she could see everyone.
"Who wants to volunteer?"
((OOC: Next person doesn't have to go in posting order, but what Roxanne is doing requires a bit of god-modding [just for her to pick them up at her will and move them in any direction] so the player MUST be okay with that.))

Bobby gave Roberto a look and grinned. [glow=blue,0,500]"Sure as you say Mr moneybags"[/glow] The teen would get a turn at making the rich kid look bad, but for now a matter of competitiveness would suffice. After receiving a serve from the 'teach' Drake sighed offered his hands up in a 'cuff me' stance.
[glow=blue,0,500]"What is this, everybody got it in for the ice-man?"[/glow] he smirked and made a small pillar to lean against. The other students could stand around and contemplate what to do next. Bobby figured he was in uniform and was as prepared as he needed to be.
The frosty kid tuned out momentarily not listening to the teacher as she went on and on. Roxanne did happen to stop briefly and asked for a volunteer. To which Bobby stood proud and nodded in her direction. [glow=blue,0,500]"Right here, I'll man up for the benefit of the rest of the class"[/glow] he announce brimming from ear to ear.
The teen moved towards Roxanne and in the hopes of not only winning some points back for his little misdemeanors before, but to look good for the rest of the class, Bobby Drake offered himself like the willing sacrifice. He only hoped that whoever was supposed to save him would do it before he had a dirt nap.

“Hey!” Jeb exclaimed at the hick comment, “Ah ain’t no…”
Then he heard himself. Okay, well, maybe he did sound an awful lot like a hick, but what did this guy expect? He just came from his home in Cumberland, Kentucky. However, while the way he spoke may label him a hick, Jeb wasn’t really one. He didn’t think like one, he was way more open minded, and the things he wanted, the things he liked, weren’t really hick things.
“Ah’m no hick. Shut up.”
Jeb sat there, bitterly, arms crossed. Of course, he cheered up a little when the teacher scolded the other boy, though he still wasn’t exactly happy by the time Iceman decided to show off. When he gave his little ‘introduction’, Jeb was hardly impressed by the display, even if he normally would have been. He was being nice then, but Jeb didn’t much care for being called a hick, so his reply was as icy as the other boy’s skin.
“Not if ya make lame puns like that, yer not,” he muttered under his breath.
Soon after, another student told Iceman that he was not a flyer but a glider, to which the teacher agreed, making the other boy wonder if everyone had it in for him. Of course, if he greeted everyone the first time like he’d greeted Jeb, the young electrokinetic wouldn’t have been surprised if everyone did have it in for him.
The teacher went on to answer a few questions before asking for a volunteer. Jeb looked around to see who would raise their hand, the fact that she never did answer his question passing through his head. He certainly hoped the answer was no, but he couldn’t know until someone volunteered and they began. Although, if she was showing them, wouldn’t that mean she was doing the move? Maybe she was doing the whole ‘being tossed around’ thing on a volunteer basis. He hoped so. While Jeb would be willing to work with Jay on this, he didn’t really want his life in the hands of a perfect stranger.
He especially didn’t want to be tossed around by each person with no chance to get a breath in between. It seemed a little unlikely that a teacher would be that hard on a student, especially a new one, but Jeb had never been to mutant school before, and he really didn’t know what to expect.
