"So you'd like to use my abilities." Shay was suspicious of Mason and his supposedly beneficial offer. "In exchange for food and shelter. You want me to steal? To overcome your own limitations. Aside from the things you've listed, what else can you offer me? If I'm going to help you, what will you do for me?" Shay was trying to keep himself from being drawn into a situation that would only benefit Mason.
Mason's grin quickly faded into a scowling glare. He approached Shay with small steps which belied his intent. In one swift action, he had Shay pinned against the opposite wall of the alley between both of his outstretched arms. Leaning in closely, he spoke in a quiet voice. "Limitations, huh? Yes, I may be limited right now, but with the training, " here he stressed the word, "that I'm being offered, I could become less 'limited'. By studying blueprints or having help from the inside to get lock combinations or whatever I can be more than well prepared. So technically I don't need you. I think it would be a good idea to use our powers together as we might make a pretty powerful team." He forcefully pushed himself off of the wall, taking a step backwards and folding his arms over his chest.
"That’s horrible. How can they do that to us?"
"It was quite easy for them to do it to the blacks. Think how much easier it is now that they've had a hundred years to practice."
"I'll join you"
A smile began to vaguely spread across his face. "That's more like it."

Articuss, after seeing that the kid didn't want to hear his oh-so amazing rendition of a fire powered mutants being tortured and killed within 2 days (a rather long recording), he leaned against a wall again rather bored of the situation he found himself in. The recent murder he had been listening into had since died down and there were no more voices coming from that room. Suddenly, Articuss snapped back into where he was and saw Mason pinning Shay to a wall. To this, Articuss did not move, or even flinch. He watched intently to see what Mason would say and do and how Shay would react.
Surprisingly, after being pinned to a wall and told he was unneeded, the kid still joined. "Fine, we have a new friend. Can we get back to the TOWER before we get in some REAL trouble. Last thing I need is a sonic death yell from Banshee." Articuss whined, his thumb pointing over his shoulder towards the general direction of the tower.

Shay very quickly realized his choice of words may not have been the best when Mason had basically shoved him against the wall. He cringed as he listened very intently as Mason went on about not needing him. Yes, he really had made a miscalculation on this one. "I'm sorry," he said in a near whisper. "What kind of training are you receiving? What is this 'tower'?" He spoke a little shakily after Mason put forth such an aggressive display, and then with Articuss speaking of getting in trouble, and some unusual action from someone called Banshee. "Am I getting you two in trouble?"

"Fine, we have a new friend. Can we get back to the TOWER before we get in some REAL trouble. Last thing I need is a sonic death yell from Banshee."
Mason nodded, motioning for Shay to follow them. There was a lot to explain.
"What kind of training are you receiving? What is this 'tower'?" He spoke a little shakily after Mason put forth such an aggressive display, and then with Articuss speaking of getting in trouble, and some unusual action from someone called Banshee. "Am I getting you two in trouble?"
"It's not unnecessarily the best training - no one can teach us for sure how to do what we can do, " he spoke in a lower tone now that they were moving amongst the crowds, being vague enough that anyone listening might become confused, "but they've provided opportunities for us to develop and explore our limitations. Earlier I was helping out in an abandoned car-garage, dislodging an elevator on the second floor.... while I was on the first."
In response to being asked about trouble, Mason ran his hand repeatedly over the back of his head, mussing up his hair. "Eeh... I kinda snuck out. Needed something to do besides dusting upstairs windows and pulling debris out of bedrooms that aren't even occupied. I didn't get express permission to leave - don't even know if I needed to - but finding you was worth it. Oh, sorry about trying to rob you earlier." He shrugged apologetically. "Articuss, do you know where Irene is? I think we should get her to say she found him; it gets us off the hook for being out of the Tower."

"Articuss, do you know where Irene is? I think we should get her to say she found him; it gets us off the hook for being out of the Tower."
Articuss walked along with the other guys, keeping a look out for any unwanted friends popping up, like the crazy Chink with the bag they lived with. As they made way through the thickening crowd, Articuss kept quiet, being sure not to speak if it wasn't a one word answer. Articuss chuckled when Mason spoke of sneaking out. When he mentioned having tried to steal from Shay earlier, Articuss wasn't as surprised as previously when he saw Mason pull the boy into the alleyway, but still enough for him to glance at Mason questioningly. He had an ample supply of food and money from the Asian, there was no need to steal anymore. When asked if he knew where Irene was, Articuss shook his head, his posture now slouched over, his hands stuffed back into his pockets. They weren't out of the crowd yet. so Articuss was still being quiet, which was probably to Shays liking.
